Time for sanity in Pakistani politics

Well, one can say that this is nothing new and unusual and these forms of statements were also expressed in the past by both of Indo – Pakistan leadership. But each and every aspect has its own and novel beginning. For that reason it can be said let them get a chance! An opportunity to develop and also to sustain!

So only the Almighty is the best one to predict of the future of Kashmir but we can say at least after a hiatus of several years finally the Pakistani leadership is waking up to the reality. The recent statement of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Asif Ali Zardari on the need to break apart the terrorist cells can be cited as a prime evidence of this. He was found in a surcharged mood and went far to even support the statement of Indian Prime Minister where Dr. Manmohan Singh emphasized on the need of an autonomous Kashmir running much of its own affairs.

This conviction found an apposite expression in a statement of him that was read out at the conference on India and Pakistan, organized by a prominent media group. He read, "A commission can be established between the two countries and leaders of Kashmir themselves to world out what should be done in foreign and defense affairs."

Well, his groundbreaking role did not end here. He also stated firmly that in no way would he or PPP allow the continuation of any slow progress on Kashmir to impede work in "other cooperative matters". He did accept that the militants and terrorists were the greatest stumbling block before any kind of pace process and it was also the high time to carry forward the peace process between the two countries.
